SID 2023 - Managing Infrastructure Contracts

Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on infrastructure development, Weircapacity convened stakeholders from diverse economic sectors to discuss the difficulties associated with overseeing infrastructure contracts at the sub-national level. Drawing insights from experiences in different regions, the meeting evaluated and recognized the obstacles confronted by sub-national governments and explored potential remedies to ensure effective contract management in the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Support to the Nigerian Federal Management Framework on Solid Waste, Nigeria

As part of the Federal Government's commitment to sustainable waste management, and the need to implement solid waste management policies at Local, State and Federal levels, Weircapacity in partnership with Hydroconseil and Urba Consulting provided technical assistance to support the Nigerian Federal Management Framework on Solid Waste. We developed a Gap Analysis Report of the Solid Waste Management Sector and the National Roadmap on Solid Waste Management. The project was financed by the Agency Francaise de Development (AFD).

After a successful project delivery and handing over by the consortium at the Federal Ministry of Environment Abuja (HQ), the Honourable Minister of Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi, Esq. commended the team for successfully completing this project and was pleased that the project also delivered capacity development at both state and federal levels on Waste Management, Dumpsite Management and Waste Recycling.

CP3P Training Certification

Weircapacity delivered the Certified Public-Private Partnership Professional (CP3P) Foundation and Preparation Training and Examination in Nigeria. Supported by the World Bank, the training was targeted at strengthening the capacity of key government personnel from various Ministries, Departments and  Agencies (MDAs) for the effective execution of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) as a tool for development.

The Foundation Level training and examination was delivered in two cohorts, comprising 30 candidates in each cohort making a total of 60 candidates while the Preparation Level training and examination was delivered for 30 candidates. The training and examination program was held from November 8 to November 29, 2021,  recording a pass rate of 0ver 75% across each Cohort.
