Michael Uwaechie is the Director of Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s) at Weircapacity. He has been involved in a number of PPP projects in Africa, including the structuring and development of Legal, Regulatory and Policy frameworks for PPP’s. Before joining Weircapacity, Michael worked with the United Nations General Assembly Economic and Finance Committee on macro-economic policy, including, international finance systems, financing for development and sustainable development issues in Africa and other emerging economies.

Michael is a certified Public Private Partnership Professional with the CP3P credential, having completed all three levels of the APMG PPP Certification Programme for PPP professionals. He is the lead trainer for PPP at Weircapacity and has delivered CP3P certification training for over 300 candidates across Africa, with a commendable success rate. He infuses practical knowledge and context to training sessions, making the learning process a seamless experience.

Michael has worked with a number of firms within and outside Nigeria, on turnkey infrastructure projects, where he was involved in contract structuring, legal due diligence, corporate and project finance transactions, corporate governance assessment, investment advisory, and mergers and acquisitions. He has experience in project management, and has completed a course in corporate governance from Harvard University, Massachusetts. He is an alumnus of the institute of Public Private Partnerships (IP3) in Washington, DC where he specialized in the design of PPP frameworks. Michael has an LL.M in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law from Fordham University Law School, New York, and an LL.B from Ambrose Ali University, Nigeria.
